Last Friday I was invited to a movie premiere, first time in my life - rather as a guest, not a journalist. I am writing on this film for almost a year now, I`ve been on the set twice. It was great to see, how the scenes I saw being filmed worked out in the story.
I did an interview with the director Dzhanik Fayziev and next week I`m talking to VFX supervisor Arman Yahin (both are very nice people by the way). But most of all I was impressed by the youngest cast member, that 8 year old kid not only played his part naturally, but also gave a speach on stage - mind you, the audience consisted of famous Russian actors and directors and the like, well, and the press.
It was a great experience, which I`d love to repeat some time in the future. The movie is called in Russian “August. The Eight” it is going into international release some time later, I don`t know the international title though.
